TUESDAY CONFERENCE
Tuesday conferences are held weekly from 7:30 to 9 a.m. These lectures are faculty or fellow-led and cover variety of high yield GI topics and case presentations. There is monthly board review incorporated and quarterly combined conference with the departments of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, and Pathology. This is held in person for on-campus fellows, and via zoom for those off-campus.
JOURNAL CLUB
Journal club occurs monthly on a Thursday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. It is aimed to help fellows demonstrate evidence-based medicine to analyze study design and discuss current gastrointestinal medical literature. This is usually held virtually on zoom, but occasionally at a restaurant over dinner.
TUMOR BOARD
Tumor Board provides exposure to the diagnosis and multi-disciplinary management of complex neoplastic diseases of the GI tract. These conferences are attended by members of the hematology/oncology, radiology, surgery, and pathology departments.
ADDITIONAL CONFERENCES
We attend scheduled conferences at our affiliated institutions when we are rotating at that respective site. This is comprised of grand rounds, case conferences, guest speakers, etc.
